Arizona State Retains Top Spot in Women's Coaches' Poll


The second Golf World/NGCA Division I Coaches' Poll of the fall season has been released. The complete results, including results from Divisions II and III, will appear in the November 9 issue of Golf World and can be viewed online at www.golfworld.com.

Arizona State remained the No. 1 team, earning 25 of the 42 first-place votes. The Sun Devils took the team title at the Stanford Collegiate - their second victory of the season, before closing out the fall schedule with a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Fall Preview.

UCLA and Purdue moved into the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, after being ranked Nos. 7 and 13, respectively, in the previous poll. The Bruins finished second at the Stanford Intercollegiate and T-2 at the NCAA Fall Preview. The Boilermakers won the Windy City Collegiate, their second team title in the 2009-10 season.

Rounding out the top five are Auburn and Michigan State. The Tigers shared runner-up honors at the NCAA Preview while the Spartans won twice this fall. Vanderbilt (T-14), Louisville (No. 18), Texas A&M (No. 23), Stanford (No. 24) and Texas (No. 25) moved into the top 25, which is shown below.
