Bjorn Joined by Lowry atop BMW PGA Leaderboard

On a day that wasn't quite as amenable to scoring as Thursday, Thomas Bjorn is still the leader in the BMW PGA Championship. The European Tour major is taking place at Wentworth Club in Surrey, England.

The 43-year-old Dane followed up his course-record-tying 10-under 62 with an even-par 72 to remain at 10-under. Over 36 holes he stands at 134, the same number as Ireland's Shane Lowry, who's recorded rounds of 64 and 70.

After opening with an eagle and eight birdies on Wentworth's West Course, Bjorn, a 15-time European Tour winner, got off to a slow start with two bogeys on the front nine. He got to even-par after another bogey with three birdies coming home.

Lowry, a 27-year-old who burst onto the golf scene by winning the 3 Irish Open in 2009 as an amateur and tacked on another European Tour title as a pro in the 2012 Portugal Masters, had five birdies, a bogey and a double in the second round to match Bjorn.

Four behind the co-leaders are Spain's Rafa Cabrera-Bella (73) and Luke Donald (67). Five behind are Swedes Jonas Blixt and Henrik Stenson, and Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy, who all posted 1-under 71s.

The halfway cut was established at 2-over 146. Among those heading home is Italy's Matteo Manassero, who couldn't rebound from an opening 80. The 21-year-old shot a 71 Friday.

Also missing out on the weekend are major winners Jose Maria Olazabal, Darren Clarke, Ernie Els and Charl Schwartzel.
