Bradley Completes Foursome in PGA Grand Slam of Golf

PGA champion Keegan Bradley will join Masters' champion Charl Schwartzel, U.S. Open champion Rory McIlroy and British Open winner Darren Clarke October 18-19 in Bermuda at Port Royal Golf Course for the 29th PGA Grand Slam of Golf.

The 25-year-old Bradley, who turned disaster into one of the most unforgettable rallies in major championship history last Sunday at Atlanta Athletic Club, is only the third player to win one of golf's four major championships in his first appearance, joining Ben Curtis, who one the 2003 British Open at St. Georges, and Francis Ouimet, who claimed the 1913 U.S. Open as an amateur.

The PGA Grand Slam of Golf involves the most difficult qualification requirement in the game - a victory in a major championship. The two-day event will be televised by TNT.

Bradley recovered from a triple-bogey six on the par-3 15th hole, adding two birdies in the next two holes for a 2-under-par 68 and a 72-hole total of 8-under-par 272. From there, he out-dueled Jason Dufner in a three-hole aggregate playoff, using a birdie on the 16th hole to get the momentum and capture the Wanamaker Trophy by a stroke.

Port Royal is a 6,842-yard, par-71 public course that opened for play in 1970. Ernie Els captured the 2010 PGA Grand Slam of Golf title at Port Royal.

The PGA Grand Slam of Golf features a $1.35 million purse, with the winner receiving $600,000, second place $300,000, third place $250,000 and fourth place $200,000.

The PGA Grand Slam of Golf is hosted by the Bermuda Department of Tourism, Port Royal Golf Course, and the Fairmont Southampton Hotel. Established in 1979, the PGA Grand Slam of Golf has grown from an 18-hole, single-day charity event to a 36-hole annual showdown.
