Company Announces Promotional Deal with Iceland

(Norwalk, Conn.) On March 18, 2003, Golf Marketing’s president & CEO Kevin Kolenda announced that the company came to an agreement with Iceland State TV & Radio to broadcast and promote golf through 60 amateur and pro-am golf events throughout Iceland and outlying regions during 2003-2006. Golf Marketing will provide the formatting and prizes, while Iceland State TV & Radio will provide production of the events for TV and radio and broadcast them continuously throughout their markets.

Most of the events will be filmed in Iceland, while others will be filmed in England, Ireland and Norway. Talks are underway with the Netherlands and other European locations and television markets.

"We are very excited about this joint promotion, But Golf in Iceland?" joked Kolenda. "It never ceases to amaze me the popularity of golf everywhere, and when the State TV & Radio of Iceland approached us two years ago, I must admit I was unaware of the potential of this project, their golf market and their determination . . . These shows are tentatively scheduled to be in over 10 countries, with our company making a presentation in Amsterdam this summer to bring the program there.”

"We have been working closely with Golf Marketing for over two years with the highest success and decided to expand our relationship with them and our golfing fans,” said Haftor Sveinjonsson of State TV & Radio of Iceland. “We are very thrilled to be promoting on our radio and TV networks these special golf events put together in conjunction with Golf Marketing.”

"Nationally and Internationally our company continues to grow, through solid cooperative programs with a fascinating international company like Iceland State TV," stated Andrew Lambie, Golf Marketing vice president. "With relationships like this Golf Marketing will continue to solidify its preeminent status as the worldwide leading prize provider and innovator for golf contests not only in the US, but abroad," added Lambie.

For over 16 years Golf Marketing has provided Hole In One, Putting Contest, All Sports and Specialty Promotion Prize Coverage for all types of golf events (such as the Senior MasterCard Championship, GHO, Phoenix Open and The Celebrity Players Tour, and over 20,000 amateur and charity events), non-golf events (IWSF International Water Ski Federation, PRWBL Puerto Rico Winter Baseball League). The company also promotes a golf portal site for Tournament Directors and Golf Industry Products & Services Companies.
