Cybergolf Writers Reap Rewards

Two of Cybergolf's top writers, Joel Zuckerman and Tony Dear, were announced as multiple winners during the 21st Annual ING Media Awards program at the PGA Merchandise Show.

Zuckerman took First Place in the Book Author category for his new title, "Pro's Pros: Extraordinary Club Professionals Making Golf Great," excerpts of which were featured on Cybergolf throughout the year. Joel also received Outstanding Achiever awards in Profile Writing for his "Head Pro Spotlight: Laurie Hammer" and "Golf in a Delightful Part of the World" in the Travel Writing category.

Dear added to the many writing awards he's received over the years. He won first place for Equipment Writing for Golf World UK and, for his Cybergolf contributions, took Outstanding Achiever honors for: "A ray of sunshine for the golf industry" (Business Writing); "Mickelson cements place among all-time greats" (Competition Writing); "Are golf's governing bodies working in best interest of game?" (Opinion/Editorial); and "The man who lets his clubs do the talking" (Profile Writing).

The International Network of Golf, a nonprofit, media-based networking organization, conducts the awards program for its members. ING membership is open to anyone in the golf industry and media.

A total of 43 First-Place and Outstanding Achiever awards were announced during the press conference at the PGA Show on January 22. Total entries increased 31 percent this year over 2013.
