Dawson Still Setting Pace at AT&T Championship

Marco Dawson recorded a 5-under 67 to remain the leader in the AT&T Championship. The $1.95 million, 54-hole Champions Tour event is being played at the ATT Canyons Course at TPC San Antonio in Texas.

Dawson, a 50-year-old who's last professional win came in the Web.com Tour's 2002 LaSalle Bank Championship, had seven birdies and a pair of bogeys to enter Sunday's final round at 12-under 132, one stroke ahead of Woody Austin, who shot a 65.

Two back is Wes Short Jr., who fired his second straight 67, while trailing by three are Michael Allen (65), Scott Hoch (67) and Jay Haas (68).

Haas won his 17th Champions Tour title in last week's Greater Hickory Kia Classic at Rock Barn in North Carolina.

Kirk Triplett, a two-time winner on the over-50 circuit in 2014, carded a 69 and is in seventh place at 136. Another stroke back are Bernhard Langer (66), Fred Funk (67) and John Cook (72).

Cook opened with a 65 to begin the second round tied for the lead with Dawson. But the 57-year-old, who won the First Tee Open at Pebble Beach in late September for his 10th Champions Tour victory, shot even par with two birdies and a pair of bogeys.

Defending champion Kenny Perry had a 70 and shares 11th at 138 with Tom Pernice Jr. (66) and David Frost (70).
