Delacour Goes up by One at Kingsmill Championship

France's Perrrine Delacour shot a 4-under 67 to take the 54-hole lead at the Kingsmill Championship. The $1.3 million LPGA Tour event is being held on the par-71 River Course at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va.

Delacour posted five birdies - including three on the final five holes - and a bogey to reach 11-under 202. The 21-year-old enters Sunday with a one-stroke lead over midway leader Alison Lee.

Lee, who started Saturday two strokes ahead of Australian Minjee Lee and Delacour, was sailing along nicely with four birdies through 15 holes. But the 20-year-old, still a student at UCLA despite turning pro in December, stumbled with a bogey on the par-4 16th and then doubled the par-3 17th.

Delacour, winless in the U.S. in 20 starts, will be in an unfamiliar position playing in the final group but hopes to be ready for the challenge. "I think tomorrow I will be nervous because that's the first time in the lead," she said. "So, I'm going to be nervous, but I'll try to do my best and we'll see after 18 holes."

She feels comfortable on the River Course. "Pretty similar to European golf courses," she said. "It's good for my game."

Lee took her late missteps in stride and is ready for a victory in her rookie campaign. "I'm not too disappointed with my round," she said. "Obviously I am disappointed with those two holes, and definitely affects where I am in position going into tomorrow.

"I mean, one stroke is a lot out here, and unfortunately I lost two strokes on this hole. Just need to go into tomorrow with confidence and remind myself I'm hitting it well and not think about that hole or putt too much."

Trailing the leader by three is Paula Creamer, who fired a 66, South Korean So Yeon Ryu (68) and Minjee Lee, who shot a 69.

Alone in sixth at 205 is Lexi Thompson (67), while sharing seventh at 206 are Hyo Joo Kim, Angela Stanford, Suzann Pettersen and Jin Yang.

No. 1-ranked Lydia Ko carded a 70 and is tied for 20th at 210.
