ECCO Extends Contract with PGA Tour Star Aaron Baddeley

March 6, 2006. Renowned Danish shoemaker ECCO announces the extension of its endorsement agreement with 24-year-old PGA Tour star Aaron Baddeley. Under terms of this multi-year agreement, Baddeley will wear ECCO golf shoes exclusively during all on-course activities and appear at ECCO functions. Additionally, the ECCO logo will appear on the collar of his golf shirt.

“Aaron’s great character, distinct personal style and potential to be one of the game’s best players make him an excellent representative for the ECCO brand,” says Per Aagren, Head of Global Sales, ECCO Golf.

Known as much for his fashion flare as his sterling short game, Baddeley experienced his best year as a professional in 2005. The young Australian finished 78th on the PGA Tour money list, recording five top-10 finishes and earning more than $1 million in a season for the first time. His relatively brief PGA Tour playing record includes a total of 14 top-10s, including two second-place finishes.

One of the most celebrated amateurs in history, “Badds” burst onto the international golf scene in 1999 by becoming the youngest player (17) ever to capture the Holden Australian Open. He has been a consistent performer since earning a spot on the PGA Tour via a 10th place finish on the 2002 Nationwide Tour.

ECCO are preferred by the world’s most discerning players, including international Tour stars Colin Montgomerie, Juli Inkster, Thomas Bjorn, Iben Tinning, Sophie Gustafson and Thongchai Jaidee.

Highlighting the keen attention to fashion, form and function that has distinguished ECCO for more than 40 years, the 2006 ECCO golf collection features numerous new styles for men and women, including several fully waterproof Gore-Tex® options. All models include distinct weather-resistant, comfort and cushion features, and are made using a direct-injection process unique in the field of golf footwear.
