Feherty to Have Own Show on Golf Channel

David Feherty - a 14-year veteran of CBS Sports - is bringing his wit to Golf Channel with an all-new, prime-time series. "Feherty" is currently in production and will debut the week of June 20.

"Feherty" is the first original Golf Channel series created since the golf cable network became a member of the NBC Sports Group following the Comcast-NBCUniversal transaction in January.

No topic will be off limits in the 12-part series, which will have interviews with well-known personalities ranging from sports to entertainment to politics, along with stories and anecdotes.

The Irishman has made a name for himself by his candor, knowledge of the game, and propensity to say whatever is on his mind. The former European and PGA tour player has become more famous off the course as a commentator, columnist and author. His career as an on-course reporter and interviewer for CBS Sports has spanned more than 300 tournaments, including the Masters and PGA Championship.

He writes a monthly column for Golf Magazine and is an author of four books: "A Nasty Bit of Rough," "Somewhere in Ireland a Village Is Missing an Idiot," "An Idiot for All Seasons," and "David Feherty's Totally Subjective History of the Ryder Cup." He also is a co-announcer with CBS Sports' Jim Nantz on EA Sports' Tiger Woods PGA Tour video game series.

As part of his new Golf Channel relationship, Feherty will serve as a contributing analyst during Golf Channel's live coverage at golf's biggest events.

"This show is something I've always wanted to do, and I'm glad it's found a home at Golf Channel," Feherty said. "I'm really overjoyed, so much so that I may have to cheer down, rather than up. I think I'm tri-polar."

In each 30-minute episode he will share stories about the sport and the personalities that play it as well as poignant and humorous observations on the peculiarities of life. The series is being shot in studio and on location, with interviews taking place across the country.
