Feng Has Breakthrough Victory in LPGA Championship


Shanshan Feng closed with a 5-under 67 to win her first title - and the first-ever major title for a professional golfer from China, the LPGA Championship. The victory was worth $375,000.

Feng finished at 6-under 282 at Locust Hill Country Club in Pittsford, N.Y., two strokes ahead of Mika Miyazato (69), Stacy Lewis (70), Suzann Pettersen (70) and 54-hole leader Eun-Hee Ji (72).

"I am so excited right now," the 22-year-old Feng exclaimed. "I did it!"

Defending champion Yani Tseng of Taiwan had a miserable tournament, closing with a 76 to finish in a tie for 59th at 13-over 301.
