Fleetwood Wins Johnnie Walker Championship

Tommy Fleetwood birdied the first sudden-death playoff hole to win the Johnnie Walker Championship. The European Tour event took place at The Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire, Scotland.

Fleetwood, a 22-year-old from England, closed with a 2-under 70 to finish tied in regulation at 18-under 270 with Scotland's Stephen Gallacher and Argentina's Ricardo Gonzalez, who posted 67 and 70, respectively, on Sunday.

On the first extra hole, the par-5 18th, all three players found the fairway with their drives. Gonzalez went long with his approach and Gallacher found the right-hand bunker, while Fleetwood's second stopped on the fringe.

Gallacher splashed out to 10 feet and Gonzalez's putt from behind the green stopped five feet from the hole. Fleetwood's eagle putt just missed and rolled three feet past. Both Gallacher and Gonzalez missed their birdie tries, while Fleetwood made his for his first European Tour title.

Finishing a stroke out the playoff were Scotland's Scott Henry and Austria's Bernd Wiesberger.
