Hadley Now Heads Web.com Tour Championship

Chesson Hadley followed up his opening 5-under 65 with a 66 for a two-stroke lead in the Web.com Tour Championship on the Valley Course at the TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.

The $1 million event is the last of four tournaments where 25 players can earn their PGA Tour cards for 2013-14. The top 25 are decided by a money list from the four tournaments; another 25 have already qualified by placing in the top-25 on the Web.com Tour season-long money list.

Hadley, a 26-year-old North Carolinian, posted six birdies and a pair of bogeys to reach 9-under 131, two ahead of Joe Durant (67) and three in front of Australia's Aron Price (65) and Andrew Svoboda (67).

Andrew Putnam (67), Johnattan Vegas (69), Mark Anderson (71) and Scott Gardiner (68) share fifth at 135.

After firing a 63 Thursday to take the 18-hole lead, Ashley Hall went 13 shots higher in the second round with a 76.

The 36-hole cut was set at even-par 140. Among the players who didn't qualify for the weekend are former PGA Tour regulars, Greg Owen, Cameron Percy, Paul Goydos, Marcel Siem, Matthew Goggin, Spencer Levin, Ricky Barnes, Troy Matteson and Kevin Tway.

2008 Masters champion Trevor Immelman posted rounds of 71 and 70 to miss the cut by a stroke. The 33-year-old South African has qualified for the 2013-14 PGA Tour, however, as he's 23rd on the Web.com Tour money list. Tway is also safe as he ranks eighth in earnings.
