Industry Veteran Creates Golf Course Brokerage Firm

March 31, 2005. Jeffrey Davis, former director and co-founder of Cushman & Wakefield's National Golf Group, has formed Fairway Advisors, a boutique golf course brokerage and advisory practice. Fairway Advisors will focus primarily on seller representation of middle-tier golf facilities throughout the United States.

Davis is responsible for the sale of some of the most notable golf courses in the United States. Most recently he brokered Legend Trail Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. Legend Trail was a "Top 100 to Play" golf course as judged by Golf Magazine. Davis has also sold top PGA tournament venues such as Valencia Country Club in Valencia, Calif., site of the 1998 Nissan Open and the current location for the Champions Tour SBC Classic. In addition, Davis brokered Kemper Lakes Golf Club in Long Grove, Ill. Kemper Lakes is best known as the site of the 1989 PGA Championship won by the late Payne Stewart.

Serving as president of Fairway Advisors, Davis says, "I'm obviously proud of being able to represent and sell some of the top golf courses in the United States. However, it has been equally rewarding selling golf facilities that are not household names located outside of major markets. We will continue to represent owners seeking to sell upper end golf courses, but we will not ignore the middle tier facilities that have been previously overlooked by other national brokerage houses."

Davis believes the vast majority of golf courses today can be classified as middle-tier facilities from an investment standpoint. He feels, oversupply and stagnant participation has resulted in a majority of operators realizing declining revenues. Fairway Advisors will service this middle tier as owners, investors and lenders in the industry demand quality services from knowledgeable professionals with specialized skill sets.

Fairway Advisors also provides consulting services to the golf industry. Each of their affiliated consultants has a minimum of 10 years experience in their respective field of expertise. From disposition assignments to agronomy consulting and due diligence underwriting, Fairway Advisors' professionals are uniquely qualified to assist owners in achieving their desired results.
