Kim & Ko Share Medalist Honors in U.S. Women's Amateur

Jihee Kim of South Korea and Lydia Ko of New Zealand shared medalist honors after finishing the 36-hole, stroke-play portion of the U.S. Women's Amateur at 6-under 136 at Rhode Island Country Club.

Kim opened with a 5-under 66 on Monday and shot a 1-under 70 Tuesday. Ko, a 14-year-old who is ranked the No. 1 female amateur in the world, had the same scores but on opposite days.

Right behind at 137 (with rounds of 70 and 67) is Moriya Jutanugarn of Thailand, while another stroke back is Emma Talley of Princeton, Ky.

Jutanugarn is the younger sister of reigning U.S. Girls' Junior champion, Ariya Jutanugarn, who finished at even-par 142 and made the cut.

Now that the two rounds of stroke-play qualifying have been completed, the cut - set at 7-over 149 - was made for the low 64 players, who now move on to the match-play portion of the U.S. Women's Amateur. The 36-hole championship match will take place Sunday.
