Kuchar Remains on Top at Colonial

Matt Kuchar carded a 1-under 69 in Saturday's third round to take a one-shot lead heading into Sunday of the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial. The $6.4 million PGA Tour event is taking place at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.

Because a second storm came through that caused a lengthy suspension of play Friday, Kuchar was forced to leave the course after just teeing off on the par-3 16th hole. Needing to complete his second round Saturday morning, he finished with three straight pars to cap off a 5-under 65 for the 54-hole lead.

Kuchar is at 11-under 199, one stroke ahead of Matt Every (66), Chris Stroud (67), Boo Weekley (66) and Canada's Graham DeLaet (69).

Four players - Martin Flores (65), South Africa's Tim Clark (65), John Rollins (67) and Steve Flesch (69) - lurk two shots back of Kuchar. The low third rounds were posted by Flores and Clark.

"It puts me in good position," Flores told PGATour.com. "I still have a lot of work to do. There are a lot of great players, and I've got to keep making birdies."

Three behind Kuchar are Bud Cauley (66), defending champion Zach Johnson (68) and Swedes Jonas Blixt (67) and Freddie Jacobson (69).

Four strokes out of the lead are Charley Hoffman (67), J.J. Henry (67), Scott Stallings (69), Chris Kirk (70), Jordan Spieth (71) and Josh Teater (71).
