Langer Records 18th Champions Tour Title

Bernhard Langer closed with a 5-under 67 to win the Greater Gwinnett Championship. The inaugural, $1.8 million Champions Tour event began Friday at TPC Sugarloaf in Duluth, Ga.

The victory for the 55-year-old German, worth $270,000, was his second of the young season and 18th overall on the senior circuit. He's had five top-three finishes in just six events in 2013, including a win in the Ace Group Classic.

Langer, a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame, carded six birdies and a bogey Sunday to finish at 10-under 206 to edge Tom Lehman (67) and Tom Pernice Jr. (70) by three strokes.

Chien Soon Lu took solo fourth at 211 after a 69, while sharing fifth at 212 were Duffy Waldorf (70) and Mark Calcavecchia (73).

Tied for seventh at 213 were Steve Pate (69), Wayne Levi (69), Fred Funk (71), Jeff Sluman (71), Bart Bryant (72) and 36-hole leader Esteban Toledo.

Toledo, a 50-year-old from Mexicali, Mexico, and a rookie on the Champions Tour, closed with a disappointing 3-over 75 that included two straight double-bogeys on the par-3 11th and par-4 12th holes that dropped him from contention.
