McNeill Wins Puerto Rico Open

George McNeill closed with a 3-under 69 to win the Puerto Rico Open. The $3.5 million PGA Tour event took place at Trump International Golf Club in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.

McNeill finished at 16-under 272, two strokes ahead of Japan's Ryo Ishikawa, who shot a 68. The victory, the second in the career for the 36-year-old Floridian, is and worth $630,000 and 250 FedEx Cup points. His first win came in the 2007 Frys.com Open.

On Sunday, McNeill posted three birdies and a pair of bogeys for a 1-under 35 on the front nine. After a bogey on the par-3 11th, he reeled off four straight pars before closing his round in great fashion with three straight birdies on the final three holes for a 2-under 34 on the inward half to hold off Ishikawa.

The 20-year-old Ishikawa, who's already accumulated nine wins on the Japan Golf Tour, fired three birdies over the final four holes to make things close at the end.

Boo Weekley (66) and Sweden's Henrik Stenson (71) shared third at 275, while another stroke back were American Scott Brown (70) and Aussie Matt Jones (71). Daniel Summerhays (71) and Kevin Stadler (73) ended up tied for seventh at 277.
