Na Stays Ahead at Colonial

Kevin Na is positioned for a wire-to-wire win at the PGA Tour's $6.5 million Crowne Plaza Invitational. On a wet Saturday at Colonial Country Club in Ft. Worth, Texas, the 31-year-old Las Vegas resident carded a 1-under 69 to reach 11-under 199, a stroke clear of England's Ian Poulter.

Na, the winner of the 2011 Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open who's had five top-10s this season, carded three birdies and two bogeys. Playing in the same group with Na, Poulter had four birdies and a double-bogey on the par-4 10th to stay close entering Sunday's final round.

Because of the threat of bad weather, the field went out in threesomes off both the first and 10th tees on Saturday. That same scenario will play out again Sunday morning as more inclement weather is expected.

Na later told reporters he hopes to keep his focus and hopefully earn his second Tour title. "When it comes to crunch time, you've got to trust your stroke and just stay in the moment," he said.

Poulter could have taken the lead save for his missteps at the 10th, which he four-putted from 16 feet. "Pleased with how I played, just a little mishap there on 10," said the 39-year-old Brit. "It didn't break, and then a few more putts it took to get in the hole."

Just one stroke back is Charley Hoffman, who fired a 66, while three behind are Chris Kirk (65) and Brandt Snedeker (66). Tied for sixth at 203 are Rory Sabbatini (66), Kevin Kisner (67), George McNeill (69) and Brian Harman (69).

Sharing 10th at 204 are defending champion Adam Scott (66), No. 2-ranked and Dallas resident Jordan Spieth (67), Jerry Kelly (67), Vijay Singh (69), Nick Taylor (68), Adam Hadwin (69) and 2013 Colonial champion Boo Weekley (71).
