Other Park on Top in Canadian LPGA Event

Hee Young Park of South Korea fired a 10-under 61 to vault to the top of the leaderboard in the Manulife Financial LPGA Classic. The 72-hole, $1.3 million tournament began Thursday at Grey Silo Golf Course in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

The 26-year-old Park, no relation to No.1-ranked Inbee Park, had a flawless scorecard that included eight birdies and an eagle on the par-5 sixth hole. Through three rounds she stands at 20-under 193, a stroke ahead of American Angela Stanford (64) and two in front of 36-hole leader, Catriona Matthew of Scotland, who shot a 68.

After a 65, South Korea's Meena Lee is in solo fourth at 196, while in fifth at 198 is Sweden's Anna Nordqvist (67). Tied for sixth at 199 are Americans Gerina Piller (62) and Austin Ernst (67), and South Korea's Amy Yang (66).

Norway's Suzann Pettersen and Inbee Park both had 68s to be in ninth place at 200. Inbee Park is seeking to become the first golfer to win four straight LPGA tournaments since Lorena Ochoa in 2008. Nancy Lopez (1978) shares the all-time Tour record of five consecutive victories with Sweden's Annika Sorenstam (2004-05).

Park also won the first three majors of 2013, joining Babe Zaharias in 1950 as the only woman to sweep the year's first three majors. Park will vie for her fourth major in a row at next month's Women's British Open.
