Palmer Course Design Celebrates 35 Years

Palmer Course Design is celebrating its 35th year in the world of golf architecture. The 15-member team has designed and constructed more than 300 courses across the globe, many of which have hosted prominent tournaments.

"In our business, we have the unique opportunity to make something truly special and create art on a major scale that brings enjoyment to many people," said Palmer Course Design Executive Vice President Erik Larsen. "I am fortunate to be in a field where I get the chance to live out my dream every day and work with a group of people who are not only talented and gifted professionals but who are also dear friends."

Since 1971, when Palmer Course Design President Ed Seay and golf legend Arnold Palmer joined forces, Palmer Course Design has been connecting golfers to the land. The company utilizes technology to assist its clients with master planning, engineering concepts and construction, while ensuring environmental sensitivity. Palmer Course Design prides itself on creating courses that are as memorable for their beauty as they are for their challenging but enjoyable play.

Later this year, the firm will begin construction on its first golf course in the newly launched Palmer Premier series. At White Oak Plantation, a semiprivate resort development in Tryon, N.C., Palmer Course Design will take an active role in the entire project. The Palmer Premier series will be implemented in exclusive to high-end developments.

The Palmer Course Design team has also been busy readying its course at The K Club in County Kildare, Ireland for the 2006 Ryder Cup on September 22-24. For more information about Palmer Course Design, call (904) 285-3960 or visit www.palmerdesign.com.
