Park Wins HSBC Women's Champions


Second-ranked Inbee Park closed with a 2-under 70 to overcome the world's other top-two players to win the HSBC Women's Champions. The $1.4 million event took place at the Serapong Course at Sentosa Golf Club in Singapore.

Park carded two birdies and 16 pars to finish at 15-under 273, two strokes ahead of No. 1 Lydia Ko, who also had a 70, and four in front of No. 3 Stacy Lewis (72). The victory, worth $210,000, was the 13th of the 26-year-old South Korean's stellar career.

"This is a good sign for the season and hopefully many more to come," Park said of her latest title.

Tied for fourth at 278 were China's Shanshan Feng (69), Spain's Azahara Munoz (71) and Korean So Yeon Ryu (70), while alone in seventh was Germany's Caroline Masson (68).

Sharing eighth at 280 were South Koreans Ilhee Lee and Hyo Joo Kim, Sweden's Anna Nordqvist and Spain's Carlota Ciganda.

Defending champion Paula Creamer carded her third 2-over 74 of the tournament - along with a 71 - to end up tied for 55th at 5-over 293.
