Partnership Led by Trophy Golf Acquires Tom Fazio-Designed Coral Creek

January 9, 2007. Trophy Golf Management, a management, development and consulting company specializing in high-quality private clubs and golf courses, golf communities, resorts and golf-oriented lodging properties, announced it has acquired Coral Creek Club in Placida, Fla., along with capital partner, ELV Associates, Inc., effective immediately.

ELV Associates, Inc. is a Boston-based, privately held real estate and investment firm established to represent a number of wealthy families in connection with direct investments in United States commercial properties. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The purchase marks the first private golf club acquisition for Trophy Golf.

“We are extremely pleased with the purchase of Coral Creek Club, and this deal marks the first of what we expect to be several selective opportunities for additional acquisitions of existing golf properties or investments in new properties and developments throughout the United States, where the economics are favorable,” said Michael Zmetrovich, CEO, Trophy Golf Management. “Coral Creek Club is a unique, world-class golf course that truly exemplifies a “trophy” golf property, the cornerstone of Trophy Golf’s philosophy. Current and new members of Coral Creek Club, as well as club staff, can expect a seamless transitional phase as Trophy Golf will continue to oversee management of the club as it has been doing for the past couple of years.”

Coral Creek Club is a private golf club, which features a core Tom Fazio-designed par-71, 7,038-yard golf course. Ranked 27th out of more than 1,000 golf courses in the state of Florida by Golf Digest, Coral Creek Club opened in December 2000 and is located across the causeway from Gasparilla Island and Boca Grande. Poised to open in Jan. 2008, Coral Creek Club's new 13,000 square-foot clubhouse is currently under construction and will provide an inviting social and dining environment where members can enjoy the spirit and camaraderie of fellow members and guests. The new clubhouse will reflect the casual elegance and turn-of-the-century Florida grace reminiscent at Coral Creek Club, with its classic architectural lines, grandeur and exclusive level of service.

“I have had the opportunity to work with Michael and his company, Trophy Golf, over the last couple of years and I believe he has the experience, professionalism and creativity required to lead Coral Creek Club into its bright future. Michael has run many top-notch private clubs throughout the U.S. and he is the type of leader you want to have at the helm of great clubs. I am happy Coral Creek Club will have the opportunity to tap into his knowledge and experience his leadership going forward,” added Fazio.
