Pettersen Comes Home Strong to Win Manulife LPGA Classic

Suzann Pettersen birdied two of the final three holes to eke out a one-stroke victory in the Manulife LPGA Classic. The 72-hole LPGA Tour event in Canada took place at Whistle Bear Golf Club in Cambridge, Ontario.

Pettersen, a 34-year-old Norwegian, finished with a 3-under 69 on a windy day in Canada. She finished at 22-under 266, a stroke clear of hard-charging American Brittany Lang, who closed with a 65, to earn $225,000 and her 15th LPGA title.

"I felt I played some really good golf this week," Pettersen told reporters. "I was pretty flawless through three rounds and broke that effort pretty quickly with a couple of bogeys, but I managed to get my head together and play some good golf. I played aggressive and it was a good day on the golf course."

Mariajo Uribe, a 25-year-old Colombian, shot an even-par 72 to end up in third at 270, while tied for fourth at 272 were Australia's Minjee Lee (67), South Korea's So Yeon Ryu (69) and Americans Jacqui Concolino (69) and Cristie Kerr (73).

Defending champion Inbee Park had a 68 to end up tied for 11th at 275.

No. 1-ranked Lydia Ko posted a 71 to tie for 27th at 10-under.
