Romero in Front at Reno-Tahoe Open

Argentina's Andres Romero birdied his last four holes to take a one-point lead through 36 holes of the Reno-Tahoe Open. The $3 million PGA Tour stop began Thursday at Montreux Golf & Country Club in Reno, Nev.

Romero has 22 points in the modified Stableford tournament, one more than Gary Woodland, who accrued seven points Friday, and three over Australian's Stuart Appleby and Rod Pampling, and South Korean Charlie Wi.

The cut was set at six points. Defending champion J.J. Henry missed out on the weekend.
