Sanderson Farms Championship Halted Again Due to Inclement Weather

Just like Thursday's first round, the second round of the Sanderson Farms Championship was halted due to dangerous weather. The $3 million PGA Tour event is taking place at Annandale Golf Club in Madison, Miss.

The horn sounded at 5:00 p.m. (ET) Friday because of lightning in the area. Sitting atop the leaderboard at 10-under are Vaughn Taylor, Fabian Gomez, Paul Stankowski and Troy Matteson.

Three of the players - Taylor (carding his second straight 5-under 67), Gomez (64) and Stankowski (68) - finished their second rounds. Matteson was 5-under through 16 holes when play was suspended.

First-round leader, Daniel Summerhays, had not teed off on his second round before the players on the course retreated to the clubhouse. The 29-year-old from Utah shot a 63 Thursday.

Because of the suspension Thursday, many players had to finish their first rounds Friday morning, a scenario that will be repeated Saturday.
