Snedeker Rallies to Win AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am in Record Fashion

Brandt Snedeker closed with a 5-under 67 to win the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am for the second time in three years. By finishing at 22-under 265, the 34-year-old from Nashville set a 72-hole record in the $6.8 million PGA Tour event on California's Monterey Peninsula.

On Sunday at Pebble Beach Golf Links, Snedeker, the winner by two strokes in 2013, wrapped up his seventh career victory thanks to a spotless five-birdie final round.

In addition to taking home the $1.224 million winner's check, Snedeker earned 500 FedEx Cup points and his first title since the Canadian Open in July 2013.

Perhaps more importantly, the victory moves Snedeker into the top-50 in the world rankings and earns him an automatic spot in all four of golf's majors - including his beloved Masters Tournament in April - as well as World Golf Championships events.

"It feels awesome," an emotional Snedeker said at greenside after two-putting for par on the iconic 18th hole at Pebble Beach. "It's special. I didn't play that well, but I made the putts. I'm just so thankful."

Finishing three strokes back was California's Nick Watney, who birdied the last to take solo second at 19-under 268 following a closing 69. Alone in third at 269 after a 66 was Charlie Beljan.

Tied for third at 17-under were two-time AT&T champion Dustin Johnson (66), Pat Perez (68) and Australia's Jason Day (67). Jordan Spieth closed with a 68 to take seventh at 271 with Aussie Matt Jones (73) and 54-hole leader Jim Furyk.

The 44-year-old Furyk began Sunday with a one-stroke edge over Snedeker and Jones, but the 16-time Tour winner dropped down the leaderboard following a 74. Furyk, who hasn't won since the 2010 Tour Championship, was trying to break an unwanted string of failing to win the last eight times he had at least a share of the 54-hole lead. Furyk finished second four times in 21 starts last season en route to earning $5,987,395.

Sharing 10th at 272 were Chesson Hadley (68), Vaughn Taylor (68), Alex Prugh (69), J.B. Holmes (65), Brendon Todd (65), Daniel Berger (70), Jon Curran (70) and Andres Gonzales (70).

Defending champion Jimmy Walker posted a 69 to tie for 21st at 274 with six others.

The pro-am portion of the tournament was won by Perez and his amateur partner Michael Lund. The duo ended up at 42-under 245, two strokes ahead of Snedeker and his partner, Toby Wilt.
