Sorenstam Delivers Second Child

Retired Swedish superstar Annika Sorenstam gave birth to a son on Monday evening. The baby boy, named William Nicholas McGee, was born at 6:33 p.m.

Sorenstam made the announcement on her Twitter microblogging website. "SURPRISE! I went into labor today & William Nicholas McGee was born at 6:33 PM. I'm well. Will is hanging in there fine for being 27 weeks," she posted.

Sorenstam retired after the 2008 season with 73 career wins, including 10 major titles.

She and her husband Mike McGee delivered daughter Ava into the world in September 2009. The couple announced they were expecting their second child via social media sites on December 14, 2010.

Her son's arrival came five days after the 10th anniversary of the 59 Sorenstam fired at a Phoenix event. She's still the first and only woman to shoot under 60 in a tournament round.

Al Geiberger, Chip Beck, David Duval, Paul Goydos and Stuart Appleby have each shot 59 on the PGA Tour.
