Bubba to Play in Thailand

Bubba Watson has committed to play in the Thailand Golf Championship. The $1 million Asian Tour event will be held in early December at Amata Spring Country Club east of Bangkok.

The 2012 Masters champion will be joined by fellow American Hunter Mahan, Northern Ireland's Darren Clarke, South Africans Charl Schwartzel and Louis Oosthuizen, and England's Lee Westwood.

Westwood shot a 12-under 60 in the opening round of the inaugural tournament in 20111 and went to win by seven shots.

Needless to say, Westwood enjoyed his time in Thailand. "I had an incredible time last year. The fans were great and backed me all week," Westwood said in a statement. "I love Amata Spring as its layout suits my style of play and the greens are fast and firm. I'm excited to be returning. Anyone can win the tournament but I'll do my best to defend the title."

Watson is also looking forward to playing in a part of the world he's never visited before. "My friends have told me lots of nice things about the country, the beautiful beaches and the great food and of course the friendly people," the Bagdad, Fla., native said.

"I'm really excited about playing in the Thailand Golf Championship in front of all the fans there and I also hope to experience the Thai culture."
