Andrade & Durant Win Legend of Golf


Billy Andrade and Joe Durant finished with a 9-under 45 on the Par-3 Top of the Rock course at Big Cedar Lodge in Ridgedale, Mo., to win the Champions Tour's $2.4 million Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf at Big Cedar Lodge.

The unique 54-hole event includes one round on the regulation-length Buffalo Ridge 18 and two on the Jack Nicklaus-designed Top of the Rock.

The winning duo, who split the winners' share of $460,000, posted seven birdies and a hole-in-one (by Durant on the third hole of the second nine) to finish at 19-under 159, three strokes ahead of second-round leaders Sandy Lyle and Ian Woosnam (51).

Tied for third were Mark Calcavecchia and Steve Lowery (47) and Loren Roberts and Mark Wiebe (48), with the teams of Bob Gilder/Lanny Wadkins (48), Roger Chapman/Russ Cochran (48), Tom Lehman/Jeff Sluman (50), Corey Pavin/Duffy Waldorf (51) and John Cook/Joey Sindelar (51) sharing fifth at 14-under.

The Legends Division for players 65 and older was won by Bruce Fleisher and Larry Nelson at 12-under 139. The Legends played just nine holes Sunday on the Par-3 course.
