Europe's First Six-hole Course Opens in London


A short way off the busy Watford Road near Harrow, a new golf facility has opened. The new course, which features six famous holes, will take about an hour to play. Other on-site facilities include a 60-bay, two-tier driving range, a short-game academy, indoor golf school, restaurant and pro shop.

The development was created by Peter McEvoy, former British Amateur champion, and his partner, David Piggins. “Our aim was to build a first-class course that will take little more than an hour to play. Our holes at Northwick Park take their inspiration from some of the world’s greatest holes,” said McEvoy.

The holes are based on the famous “Postage Stamp” at Troon, the 12th at Birkdale, the 6th at Riviera in Los Angeles, and the par-4 at Oak Hill – scene of the 1995 Ryder Cup. Also on hand is a double green that mimics the 12th and 16th holes at Augusta National.

Built on a former landfill, the course should be popular for golfers who fancy the game but do not have time for a five-hour experience. Priced at 20 pounds a round, the course has a relaxed dress code and welcomes golfers from all over the world.
