GCSAA to Continue Online Synopsis of Research Projects


The Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) will continue an online synopsis of research projects completed and published between 2007 and 2010.

The project is funded by GCSAA's philanthropic organization, the Environmental Institute for Golf (EIFG), through another $10,000 grant from Floratine, the second in as many years.

"The goal of the GCSAA research program is to fund research that is important to superintendents," said Greg Lyman, GCSAA director of environmental programs. "Equally important, is to get the research results in the hands of superintendents. Thanks to the generous support of Floratine, we are able to continue to provide superintendents with a synopsis of the results that will help them improve the golf course."

The research projects cover a wide range of topics. Research highlighted in the GCSAA Research Synopsis represents projects that were completed between 2007 and 2010, and have been published in Golf Course Management magazine. Completed projects will be added each year once they have been published.

"Research is a major point of emphasis for our business," said Mike Cavanaugh, executive vice president, Floratine products group. "We support the EIFG and the GCSAA research program because it provides our customers and the industry with information that can improve their business."

A long-time supporter of GCSAA and the EIFG, Floratine is a Silver Partner in the GCSAA Partner Recognition Program and is recognized at the Governor's Club level for donors who have contributed between $50,000-$99,999 to the EIFG since 1987. With this grant, Floratine is also recognized in the Platinum Tee Club for donors who contribute a minimum of $5,000 annually to the EIFG.
