KemperSports Makes Two Promotions
KemperSports has announced the promotion of Mike Williams to regional operations executive, and named Randy Farber as general manager of Bolingbrook Golf Club in Bolingbrook, Ill.
Williams had served as general manager of Bolingbrook Golf Club since 2009, and under his leadership the property achieved significant revenue growth. Following Williams' promotion, KemperSports announced that Randy Farber would fill the open general manager position at Bolingbrook.
"Mike has shown strong leadership at Bolingbrook Golf Club and excelled in providing an outstanding guest experience," said Steve Skinner, chief executive officer for KemperSports. "His promotion to regional operating executive is well deserved, and we are confident that his dedication to customer and client service will be an asset for all of our properties in the Midwest."
A golf-industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience, Williams joined KemperSports in 2005 as the head golf professional and assistant general manager at Bolingbrook and was promoted to general manager in 2009. During his tenure, Williams made many significant contributions to Bolingbrook, including the development of a successful junior golf program as well as the property being named KemperSports Retailer of the Year in 2006 and Merchandiser of the Year by the Illinois Section of the PGA of America in 2009.
Williams was able to increase revenue, golf rounds and catering events as well. Under his leadership, the property was also a multi-year winner of KemperSports' TrueService awards. In his new role as Regional Operations Executive, Williams will oversee operations for several KemperSports' properties in the Midwest region.
Following this promotion, KemperSports announced Randy Farber as general manager of Bolingbrook Golf Club. Farber, with more than 20 years of experience in hotel, restaurant and golf course management, previously served as general manager at Highland Park Country Club.
Farber now returns to Bolingbrook Golf Club, where he served as the director of food and beverage from 2008-12. During his tenure, Farber won the 2010 KemperSports' Hospitality Professional of The Year award and was instrumental in the success of Bolingbrook's acclaimed banquet facility, which serves over 300,000 meals annually.
"We are pleased to welcome Randy back to Bolingbrook Golf Club," said Jim Stegall, executive vice president for KemperSports. "Randy was a valuable asset during his previous tenure at the property, and we are confident that he will continue to provide excellent service to our customers as the general manager."
