Moore Wins in Malaysia

Ryan Moore birdied the first playoff hole to win the CIMB Classic. The $7 million PGA Tour event took place at Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club in Malaysia.

Moore and Gary Woodland finished tied in regulation at 14-under 274. But instead of starting the playoff immediately, the extra holes were delayed until Monday morning because of a couple of bad-weather delays on Sunday.

On the first playoff hole, the par-5 18th, Moore hit his third shot to 5 feet and made the putt for birdie. Woodland couldn't match that, carding a par. Woodland could have won in regulation on Sunday evening but barely missed a 10-foot birdie try though would have broken the tie.

"I had a great opportunity there on 18 with my third shot and it was just an absolute perfect number," Moore said. "It was coincidentally the exact shot I was working on on the range."

With the win, Moore earns $1.26 million and 500 FedEx Cup points. The victory was the third in the career of the 30-year-old from Tacoma, Wash.
