New Management Group Formed
January 28, 2008. Bob Marshall and Sean Cracraft have joined forces to create Marshall/Cracraft Golf and Community Management (MCGCM). The goal of the company is to integrate functions of the golf community under one "hospitality" umbrella. This strategy provides savings for the development partners and top service to owners within a managed community.
Marshall has been involved in golf and community development for over 30 years. Upon graduating from Stanford in 1971, Bob began his career in the golf business by teaming up with Orrin Vincent to form OB Sports. Bob was the "B" in OB Sports. Over the next 20 years, Bob was instrumental in managing, developing, construction and overseeing the operations of all of their projects including Edgewood Tahoe in Nevada, The Reserve in Oregon, and Washington National in Auburn, Wash.
After leaving OB Sports, Marshall took on the role of managing Peter Schmidt Ventures, a venture capital company. During his tenure he invested and consulted in various projects, and became a partner in Teton Springs Resort in Idaho.
Cracraft began his golf career as the first graduate of the Professional Golf Management program at Mississippi State University. While at MSU, Sean interned at TPC at Sawgrass, Shoal Creek and Long Cove Club. Upon graduating, Sean worked at Baltimore Country Club before heading west and joining up with Marshall and OB Sports at Teton Pines, Wyo.
After moving to the maintenance side of the golf business in 1993, Cracraft served as the director of golf at Sunriver Resort in Ore.; Vice President of Golf Operations, Destination Hotels & Resorts; and General Manager at Suncadia Resort in Central Washington. His experience as a PGA professional, GCSAA golf course superintendent and hospitality executive compliments Marshall and helps form a dynamic partnership in MCGCM.
