Park Extends Lead to Four at U.S. Women's Open

Inbee Park continues to roll along. The 24-year-old carded Saturday's only under-par round, a 1-under 71, to reach 10-under 206. The South Korean enjoys a four-stroke lead through 54 holes of the U.S. Women's Open at Sebonack Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y.

Park is in prime position to match Babe Didrikson Zaharias's all-time record of winning the first three LPGA Tour majors of the year. Zaharias set that mark in 1950 when there were only three major championships in women's golf.

The No. 1-ranked Park has already won the first two majors in 2013 - the Kraft Nabisco in April and LPGA Championship in early June. Those two victories are among her five titles on the season.

I.K. Kim, a 25-year-old South Korean with three LPGA victories, carded a 1-over 73 and is at 6-under 210. Kim could have a major title to her credit, but she missed a one-foot putt that would have sealed victory in the 2012 Kraft Nabisco. After tying Sun-Young Yoo in regulation, Kim ended up losing the sudden-death playoff to Yoo.

Sitting a distant third at 3-under 213 is England's Jodi Ewart Shadoff, who carded a 74, while nine behind Park are South Korea's So Yeon Ryu (73) and American Angela Stanford (74).

Sharing sixth at 1-over 217 are Americans Paula Creamer (72) and Jessica Korda (76), while tied for eighth at 218 are Japan's Ai Miyazato (72) and Americans Brittany Lang (73), Cristie Kerr (74) and Brittany Lincicome (74).

Defending champion Na Yeon Choi carded a 72 and is tied for 17th at 4-over 220.

After opening with rounds of 72 and 76, 16-year-old New Zealand amateur Lydia Ko posted a 7-over 79 Saturday to fall down the leaderboard into a tie for 51st at 11-over 227.
