Rory Slips into Third in World Golf Ranking

Phil Mickelson has replaced Rory McIlroy in the No. 2 spot in the latest World Golf Ranking. The revised rankings came out Monday.

Meanwhile, thanks to his fifth win of the year in Sunday's WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and his eighth career win at Firestone Country Club, Tiger Woods has extended his lead into an even larger margin over the planet's other top golfers.

Keegan Bradley made a big jump from No. 17 to 10th. The 2011 PGA champion finished tied for second at Firestone to Woods by seven strokes.

Filling out the top-10 are 2013 U.S. Open champion Justin Rose of England in fourth; reigning Masters' champion Adam Scott of Australia in fifth; Matt Kuchar in sixth; Brandt Snedeker in seventh; Northern Ireland's Graeme McDowell in eighth; and England's Luke Donald in ninth.

England's Lee Westwood dropped out of 10th spot to 12th, while Sweden's Henrik Stenson - who shared second with Bradley in the Bridgestone - is 11th heading into this week's PGA Championship at Oak Hill in Rochester, N.Y.

McIlroy, a two-time major winner who's going into the PGA as the defending champion, was No. 1 until being supplanted by Woods earlier this year. He finished tied for 27th at Firestone with a total of 2-over 282, 17 strokes behind Woods.
