Scott in Position for Wire-to-Wire Win at Bay Hill


Even though he had an up-and-down day, Adam Scott is still in the driver's seat at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, the $6.2 million PGA Tour event underway at Bay Hill Club & Lodge in Orlando.

The 33-year-old Aussie carded a course-tying 10-under 62 in the first round followed by a 68 Friday to enter the third round with a seven-stroke lead. On Saturday, the 2013 Masters champion shot a 71 to reach 15-under 201, three shots ahead of Keegan Bradley, who carded a 66.

Scott, who is playing in the tournament for the first time in five years, got off to a rough start with two bogeys in his first five holes. After a birdie on the par-5 sixth, he made the turn in 1-over 37. On the home half Scott recorded four more birdies and a pair of bogeys for a 34.

"I got off to a tough start," he said at greenside. "I was battling . . . I'm looking forward to tomorrow."

Bradley posted eight birdies and two bogeys to earn a spot in Sunday's final group with Scott.

Sharing third at 11-under 205 are Americans Matt Every (66) and Jason Kokrak (67), while another stroke back are Italy's Francesco Molinari and Chesson Hadley, who each shot 69.

England's Ian Poulter is in solo seventh at 8-under following a 69. Tied for eighth at 7-under are Sweden's Freddie Jacobson (70), Japan's Ryo Ishikawa (70) and Americans Morgan Hoffman (71) and J.B. Holmes (72).
