Streelman Has One-shot Lead in Kodak Challenge


Kevin Streelman continues to hold the lead in the $1 million Kodak. On Saturday at last week's Justin Timberlake Hospitals for Children Open, Streelman's sank a 41-foot putt for an eagle on the 16th hole at TPC Summerlin to retake the Challenge lead from J.J. Henry. Henry had eagled No. 16 during Friday's round to tie Streelman at 14-under-par. Henry is a shot behind Streelman at 14-under-par.

Playing as the easiest hole at TPC Summerlin for most of the tournament, the par-5, 560-yard 16th provided Kodak Challengers with many opportunities to move up the leaderboard. Steve Lowery and Bo Van Pelt each carded eagles to jump up to 13-under-par. Joining them at one shot behind Streelman is Nathan Green, who birdied the hole. Matt Bettencourt, despite missing the cut, scored an eagle to join the group at 12-under par.

A total of 13 golfers are within three strokes of the lead as the chase for the $1 million Kodak Challenge prize enters its final three holes. The year-long event continues on October 22-25 at on the par-3 16th at the Frys.com Open at Grayhawk Country Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.

The winner-take-all $1 million Kodak Challenge will conclude on November 12-15 at the Children's Miracle Network Classic at Disney's Magnolia Golf Club in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

About the Kodak Challenge

All players can compete Kodak Challenge as long as they play at least 18 of the 30 designated holes to be eligible to win. The player with the lowest cumulative score relative to par wins $1 million and the Kodak Challenge trophy.
